Debbie was tired of feeling lethargic and weak; she knew her weight and lifestyle were partly to blame for her diminished energy levels. After spotting an advertisement for the online programme Debbie decided to join. Just a few months later Debbie had achieved a fantastic 2 stone 1 lbs loss.


She tells us her story…


What made you decide to join us?

I wanted to lose weight before I reached 50. I also saw a photo of myself and this spurred me to join.


Was your weight causing you any problems?

I felt very tired and had no energy. I have been anaemic in the past and suffered from an underactive thyroid, so I wanted to follow a diet that would help me control those conditions.


Tell us about your diet before you joined us?

I didn’t realise how unhealthy my diet was. I had take-away meals once or twice per week. I didn’t eat enough fruit or vegetables or drink milk. My downfall was chocolate and crisps. We always had a pudding after meals.


What did you think of the service overall?

I thought the diet plans were very good. Lots of different food and you could easily swap meals should you want to. Meals were also suitable to cook for the whole family and I never felt hungry.


What difference has losing weight made to you?

Now I have loads of energy. My friends tell me I look great. I used to struggle through a day’s housework, now I can fly through it all.


How have your family reacted to your weight loss?

I have one daughter at home. Both my husband and daughter have been very supportive. They both lost weight eating the same meals as me.


Have you any other tips you would like to give?

This diet is not just about losing weight but learning to eat healthily too. If you fancy something nice, eat a pot of low sugar jelly to take the edge off. Also take up a hobby, I am knitting at the moment and it’s a good distraction.
