It is easy to convince yourself that your weight has jumped up due to a holiday or a stressful week of comfort eating. Often the reality of weight gain only becomes obvious when you can no longer fit into your clothes, this was the wake up call that caused Diane to address her weight gain problem. Diane joined our Gi plan and dropped 2 stone 6 lbs, achieving a svelte size 10 figure.
Diane talked to us about her weight and how she lost it…
What made you decide to join us?
None of my size 14 clothes would fit. I felt embarrassed when I sat down, and fat would spill over my waistband.
Was your weight causing any problems?
I hated having to buy clothes in larger sizes, so much so that I didn’t buy any at all if I could help it. I made sure that my trousers and jeans were high waisted, so they wouldn’t reveal too much flesh.
Tell us about your diet before and after you joined us.
I had become stuck in a habit of eating the same meals every week and eating far too much convenience and processed food. I never looked at the labels before to find out the fat and salt content, now I check the label on everything. My shopping basket is full of healthier food - lots of wholegrains and fresh vegetables. Consequently the whole family are eating more healthily.
What difference has losing weight made to you?
Losing weight boosted my confidence in the way I look; I actually like buying my clothes now that I can wear a size 8-10. I feel much fitter and healthier, I used to be out of breath and always felt tired. I don't have these problems anymore.
Did exercise aid your weight loss?
At first it was easy to lose weight, but as I got slimmer the weight loss slowed down. I decided I would have to do more exercise; I started a boxercise class once a week along with a spinning class. Gradually over the weeks I’ve got much fitter, at first I couldn’t even walk very far without getting out of breath.
What did you think of the service overall?
This is definitely the best diet I have found, there are plenty of meals to choose from and they are all very family friendly. The website is easy to use; I love the meal plans and the shopping list. It virtually does all the work for you. I know that when I come back from the supermarket I have everything I need to make meals for a whole week. I also find that I am spending less on my shopping list.
How have your friends and family reacted to your weight loss?
Many friends have been so impressed with my weight loss they have assessed their own eating habits and lifestyle.
