Husband and wife, Chris and Vanessa shared everything including a problem with weight gain! After returning from a holiday in San Francisco they were both far from happy when they saw their photographs and it wasn't long before Chris' waist was nearing 40 inches and Vanessa found she could barely get out of the bath due to her weight. This was the point they decided enough was enough and joined up to our online dieting site. 21 months later they have lost a staggering 6 stone 11 lbs between them and feel years younger.


Here is their story……


What Diet plan did you follow?

Chris & Vanessa: The healthy eating plan.


How much weight have you lost?

Vanessa: I have gone from 15 stone 11lbs, size 22 and a BMI of 38 to 12stone 11lbs, size 14 and a BMI of 31. I still have some way to go!

Chris: I have dropped from 16 stone 4lbs with a BMI of 31 to 12 stone 7lbs and a BMI of 24.


Have you previously tried any other diets?

Vanessa: In the past I tried other points-based diets but this time I not only have lost weight but I have changed my diet for the long term which has allowed me to succeed.


Was your weight causing you any problems?

Chris: I was starting to find it difficult to be as active as I would have liked.

Vanessa: I love fashion but I was finding it more and more difficult to find nice clothes in my size. Also my arthritis was getting worse and the extra weight was not helping.


What difference has losing weight made to you?

Chris: I have a lot more energy and feel about 20 years younger. I’m also able to wear nice clothes rather than just things that will fit.

Vanessa: Lots of new clothes! I feel so much better! I have more energy and I have more confidence!


What did you think of our online dieting service?

Chris: I found it very useful. It provided a helpful focus to my dieting and helped me to keep on track with a sensible diet that was not difficult to stick to.

Vanessa: Brilliant! Every week you choose your meals from a great list, almost like going to a restaurant every night so you don’t feel deprived! Shopping was so much easier with the shopping list provided.


Tell us about your diet before you joined us, and how has your diet changed as a result?

Chris: Now I eat much more regularly, spreading meals over the day rather than eating very little and then having a huge, late dinner. I have sensible portions and feel much better for it. I never get indigestion and I don’t feel bloated or uncomfortable anymore.

Vanessa: Before I started the diet plan I didn’t eat regularly and never ate breakfast. Now, I cannot start the day without my breakfast. I have smaller portions, less fat and less cheese. If I am offered something high in calories and fat I think first is it worth the calories and is it worth 20 minutes on the cross trainer? Sometimes it is, but more often than not it isn’t!


How have your family and friends reacted to your weight loss?

Vanessa: Friends have been very complementary on my new figure but to be honest it is my husband who gets most of the attention because he has lost so much more than me.


Any other tips you would like to give fellow dieters out there?

Chris: As you get into the diet, try to remember you get used to the changes and find that unhealthy foods are no longer so enjoyable. After a few months, you won’t miss the old style of unhealthy eating!

Vanessa: Always take time to have breakfast!
