Ray found it difficult to stick to ‘set diets’ due to the time and effort involved in meal planning. Like many people that lead a busy lifestyle he needed flexibility and convenience around his meals and the Gi diet plan offered Ray the perfect solution. Since joining the online programme one year ago Ray has achieved a fantastic 4 stone loss.
Here Ray tells us how he did it…
Why did you decide to join us?
I was feeling low about my appearance. I incorrectly thought that exercising alone would make me lose weight. I received an email from the online diet plans and very nearly passed it up. Something told me to take a look and I’m glad I did!
I was attracted to the online aspect and not having to go to meetings every week as well as being able to create a menu and shopping list. Also, the variety of meals was astonishing!
Was your weight causing you any problems?
I remember feeling low especially in changing rooms where nothing seemed to look good on me. I was put off running because my weight was having an impact on my joints, especially my ankles.
Describe your diet before you joined us?
I’ve always tried to eat healthily but my downfall was sweet stuff, especially at night! My other issue was portions, because I was weight training, I believed that I could eat more so was piling up my plate, the amount of calories I was consuming was far outweighing what I was burning.
What part has exercise played in helping you to lose weight?
Exercise plays an important role in my life and contributed to my weight loss'
What difference has losing weight made to you?
I feel much better within myself, clothes look good and fit now and my training regime has benefitted too. My joints don’t ache anymore. I also receive compliments on how I look and feel so much healthier and full of life!
How do you feel about your weight loss?
I’m particularly proud that I have finally found a realistic way to lose weight and I can see definition on my torso and face. I can wear close fitting clothing confidently now.
Do you feel confident about maintaining your weight loss?
“I constantly remind myself about how I looked and felt when I was overweight. I have no intention of undoing all my hard work.”
Have you any advice to give to other dieters?
Time management, planning and self discipline are essential. Forget all that I’ll pick something up on the way to work mentality, it won’t work. I always prepare my lunches the night before."
