Healthy Eating for Michelle = 1 stone 8 lbs loss!

When Michelle’s husband starting dropping hints about her weight, she knew it was time to do something about it! She had known herself for some time that it was starting to get out of control, and like many overweight people, her knees were giving her some trouble and her clothes were getting very tight. One evening when Michelle was surfing on the internet at home, she discovered our online Healthy Eating plan and decided to give it a go!

As a result of following the Healthy Eating plan, Michelle has gone from 13 stone (size 16) to 11 stone 6 lbs (size 14), losing a total of 1 stone 8 lbs and bringing her BMI from an overweight 28 to a much healthier 24! Let’s hear how she got on.


“An online weight loss plan seemed like the perfect solution for me, especially since I wouldn’t have time to go to a meeting in the evening. I was very self-conscious of my ‘spare tyre’, and I definitely didn’t want to go up to a size 18. I also thought that losing weight would ease my painful knees.”


Michelle really enjoyed the meal plan, as did her husband, who also helped her out with the shopping. “I found the meal plans really easy to follow, and with all the delicious salad and vegetables, I always felt full on this plan and wasn’t tempted to eat anything I shouldn’t! The shopping list was a brilliant idea, and meant that my husband could do the shopping for me when I wasn’t able to! I also loved that you could change any meal on the plan to suit your preferences.”


“My downfall before starting this plan was portion sizes and puddings, but now I know what size my portions should be, and I can still enjoy light puddings like yoghurt or fruit and jelly so I don’t feel deprived!”


One thing that Michelle found very motivating was when people noticed her weight loss without being prompted. “We visited my mother recently and she and my sisters-in-law all congratulated me on how much weight I’d lost, and how good I looked. They didn’t even know I’d been consciously trying to lose weight! This has really given me my confidence back, as well as knowing I look better and being able to fit into smaller clothes! Because I’m quite tall at 5’ 8”, I carry off the weight quite well, and at a size 14, I do look quite slim.”


Although she’s not a sporty person, Michelle walks to and from the station everyday, and tries to get in a half hour walk at lunchtime. This goes to show that you don’t need to run marathons to successfully lose weight – any little bit of exercise that you can fit in will help!


Michelle plans to keep the weight off, and has a strategy lined up to help her do this. “In the past when I’ve lost weight, eventually it went back on again, but I’m determined this won’t happen. I plan to follow the meal plans 3 or 4 days a week, and try to maintain the loss, perhaps even losing a few more pounds. This is definitely the best diet plan I’ve tried. The meals are delicious, varied and easy to prepare. My advice is to enjoy the meals and watch the weight fall off – it really doesn’t seem like a diet!”
